About the session

This presentation is an RSES (Register of Security Engineers and Specialists) briefing on the current infrastructure threat, future scenarios and the role that technology plays in combating the risk. It starts with a discussion on the concept of integration and convergence and what that means to different people and what the market forces are that drive or resist the concept. The speaker then looks at the building blocks of an integrated system; the infrastructure foundation based on IP technologies, optimisation and innovation are described in turn. This is followed by an examination of the benefits of having an integrated infrastructure, data sharing, flexibility and synergies that would not otherwise exist. The presentation finishes with one or two examples where integration has been used to good effect.
